About me

My Roots
90’s

An eastern PA native, I began performing classical violin as soon as I could stand on two feet. Growing up, recitals were routine and daily practice was a non-negotiable. I later began to compete as a classical vocalist and performed at some incredible venues including Carnegie Hall. Meanwhile, my dad and I would sing along to Skynyrd and Queen on weekend roadtrips or bring-your-kid-on business work trips. Between his die-hard classic rock fandom and my mom being a symphony violinist, music was always in the cards. I picked up an acoustic guitar in middle school and fell deeply in love, but since it wasn’t my primary instrument it took some prodding for me to bring it on stage. Luckily I had enough people I love rooting for me to play my guitar somewhere other than my bedroom and in the end I owe what I’m privileged to do today, to them (you know who you are).

Life in the Rockies
2014

I started performing professionally during high school in Philadelphia. After 3 semesters at Penn State University, I loaded up my ‘99 Grand Cherokee and moved to the Rockies in pursuit of the mountain life I’d dreamed of throughout childhood. I hit pause on my music career to focus on school and graduated with a BS in Business Strategy in 2018. After working as a management consultant out of undergrad, I joined Utah’s most active seed fund as an early stage investor and for 5 amazing years, enjoyed the two best daytime and weekend jobs a person with my interests could ask for.

Pivot to Music Tech
2024

In March of 2024, I was presented with the opportunity to join a music tech company Kickstart had invested in back in ‘21. Having worked closely with the team for the prior 3 years and being consistently impressed by their rapid growth and their scrappy / disciplined approach to building, blending my passions for music and tech was a no-brainer. Today more than ever, I’m incredibly grateful to work with a company and a team that supports my dreams and aspirations across my tech and music careers.

Philosophy & Sound

With an Americana / rock / folk feel, my repertoire consists of a wide variety of top hits from the 70's to today, plus an occasional original. Whether I'm taking requests as guests sing and dance along, or slipping into the background, my focus as a live musician is reading and meeting the room right where it is while setting the tone with a mix of both upbeat and softer tunes.

Since my first solo acoustic show in 2012, I’ve had the honor of performing at hundreds of venues across the US and world, including a tour across Europe with a Utah-based folk band. Today I perform weekly at various upscale venues in Park City and downtown Salt Lake City, and occasionally travel interstate or internationally for private events. Past shows and clients include the loveliest brides/grooms out there - many of whom I consider friends today, Fortune 500 companies, resorts and country clubs, restaurants and bars, festivals and private concerts… and I love it all.

Whether you’re planning your wedding, a corporate event, or looking for artists to add to your venue’s lineup, I’d love to meet and discuss how I can help set the tone and bring your vision to life.

xx,

Sydnie
